Feed The Hunger

Planned many activities through out the grade levels but interlacing community service day with ADAMS established Feed The Hunger program was one of the best. Students not even help making sandwiches and pack the food but also made care cards and we attached them to the brown paper bags.
School wide component of this day was also to collect non perishable food items for the poor and hungry of the community. School's PTO helped organized and collected food from the school families and distributed to local homeless shelters and senior centers

Non profit Organization Project by 5th graders at CEP
Benefits of group work are significant, designed, supervised, and assessed in a way that promotes meaningful teamwork and deep collaboration. . To me product means nothing as compare to the process. when planing for this project i couldnt resist to take challenge of see how my students play with their ideas and minds and work collaboratively. I divided my class of 30 students into 6 groups of 5. Each group have to create a non profit organization. They have to named their organization, no of people they will serve and no of people who will work and how its going to help the community.  They had to present this project to the community with one three sided poster board and props. These pics of their projects might not show the complete work but to this day i believe that out of 30 at least 10 will establish a a non profit organization of their own and almost all will serve the organization they are affiliate with.

Group projects can help students develop skills that are increasingly important in the corporate world.Properly structured, group projects can reinforce skills that are relevant to both group and individual work, including the ability to:
  • Break complex tasks into parts and steps
  • Plan and manage time
  • Refine understanding through discussion and explanation
  • Give and receive feedback on performance
  • Challenge assumptions
  • Develop stronger communication skills.
  • Tackle more complex problems than they could on their own.
  • Delegate roles and responsibilities.
  • Share diverse perspectives.
  • Pool knowledge and skills.
  • Hold one another (and be held) accountable.

  • Develop new approaches to resolving differences.
  • Establish a shared identity with other group members.
  • Find effective peers to emulate.
  • Develop their own voice and perspectives in relation to peers.
  • Receive social support and encouragement to take risks.

Dr Jamal was the chieft guest of the ceremony. His contribution s towards ADAMS center are un limited. Not wronged yo say that ADAMS will not be in existence if people like him doesn’t have a vision to have a model national mosque in the heart of our nation. He not only supported ADAMS with his knowledge and wisdom but also supports the financial needs from time to time. His work for the Muslims in America is remarkable. A night Before the opening

DAY  2
A Day of Opening Ceremony

The moment we all were waiting for finally arrived. Community members along with government officials attended this ceremony. Every face was shining with glow of success and excitement. Here we were making a history to cut this green ribbon. Every time i see the progress Ipray from my heart for the pioneers of this place called ALL DULLES ARE MUSLIM SOCIETY. As Imam Magid said at the breaking ceremony of ADAMS Ashburn that pioneers didn't named this organization All Sterling Area they named it All Dulles with the vision that it will spread out to serve community in large and will have branches and branches will cover the All Dulles Area. We have currently Five working branches. https://www.adamscenter.org/

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Community,
My name is Misbah Javaid and I've served as an ADAMS board member for the past two years. I've acquired valuable institutional experience and have supported revising the Articles of Incorporation, navigating the organization throughout this pandemic, and conceptualizing the Youth Center. ADAMS main center and its branches continue to blossom and be admired as a role model Muslim community in the nation. This is both a blessing and an exciting time to shape and strengthen our future.
I'd like to share my vision for now serving in a vice president role through five focus areas which require both bold leadership and community collaboration:
1. Youth Center: Establish youth centers across branches to accommodate and serve the unique needs of young American Muslims by creating a safe and secure environment for healthy social interaction. These centers must have a direct connection with the Imam's office, make Islamic education accessible and relevant, be receptive/responsive to youth ideas and needs, and be inclusive of technology trends.
2. Education: Unify and bolster educational programs throughout branches in addition to the establishment of parenting classes. Special attention to be given to standardize and accelerate virtual learning as well as ensure Scholars have appropriate classroom resources. Likewise, robust libraries to be designed for community access to reputable audio and visual references. Certified counselors must be recruited to promote family dialogue and understanding as well as cater to member mental health needs.
3. Health & Wellness: Use COVID-19 experience to standardize the decision-making process related to public health issues with active dialogue between the Imam's office, state and local health officials, and members. The goal is an educated and prepared community in compliance with state directives and Mosque operating guidelines that serve the health interests of the population at large and maintain financial security for the organization.
4. Intra Faith: Share best practices and scholarly resources across branches and other faith groups/local organizations to connect, support, and promote interaction, understanding, and overall success of the broader community.
5. Network: Leverage the immense professional talent of community members to strengthen the organization as well as mentor and guide fellow brothers and sisters to establish, redirect, and advance their careers.
My prayer is to bring out the best in our community, for people to know they can both count on ADAMS for spiritual activities and have a platform to serve their peers.
Thank you for your consideration and for the opportunity to serve as a next Vice President of ADAMS.
