Thanksgiving is no joke holiday at our residence. We take it serious whether it comes to cooking or decorating. And this year was no less because we had to impress our new family member😀 so here we go!!!

Everything starts by praising Allah
ALHAMDULILAH
A tree behind the sign is one of my favorite tree at our backyard but once it went to a trauma thanks to my beloved husband. I came home after taking care of my newly born grandchild( ILIto whom if I start writing this post will never end) anyways this tree was chopped into pieces all I could see was a trunk staring at same as if I have left my child out of sight for few minutes with a barber. Well thanks to my Lord that it’s getting its strength and fullness back. Alhamdulillah again!

Table setting was bit challenging. Want to give little rustic touch but not too rustic so I mixed formal gold plastic plates with gold trim and placed cotton napkins on the top. Gold cutlery with magnolia leaves from my own beautiful tree gave the perfect touch i want

Our Princes's 9th Birthday

Celebrated this birthday during the peak of Covid time. Covid numbers were still on rise and we as a family haven't met in months. We decided to quarantine ourselves for two weeks and then see each other at Sumi's birthday.

Mini’s Birthday
My kids always make me feel special not only on special occasion but each and every day. BJ baked this cake for mommy not only with natural ingredients but was frosted with pure love she have in heart for me.

RED BLUE and White flags swirling around the nation makes you proud that you are free and Independent. First time when i heard its Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag i fell in love with this nation.
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all," I came 35 years ago as a 19 year old young lady with a four year old child not knowing where this journey is going to take me Along with my four year child my total possession were two suitcases consist of some clothes, pair of shoes, a bedsheet , a towel and a big pot. My mother thought these items will be the most useful things to start a household. I dont know what was she thinking? but she must be forgetting that she raised me in a household full of maids and a father who treated me as if i was a princess. But she knew that i had to start somewhere. Later on in life i came to know that always have to pack these items are life saviors. Also to mention, i belong to well known family of Pakistan and had a mindset that luxuries of life will be under my footsteps like always not knowing I have to earn these luxuries now. When we started this journey, my husband had a temporary work permit. Even though he had a masters degree in Mathematics, only jobs opportunities he could avail were to be clerk at a convenient store, a bank teller, or a dishwasher at a restaurant. Out of all he preferred to be clerk at a local convenient store and got himself enrolled in a pilot license program.......to be continued |
